How Can We Save You Money?

Today's printing needs are changing. With the use of the home computer, more and more people are doing their own "artwork". This in turn is taken to the printer for high-end quality volume printing but the result can be less than desirable. As a smaller organization we can take the time to ensure that you get the results your looking for, getting you a better value for the money you're willing to spend.

WHAT CAN GO WRONG?

72 DOTS PER SQUARE INCH vs. 300

Unfortunately some artwork originates from the web or when it's created defaults to 72 dpi. It's hard to know exactly how high the resolution of the image is just by looking at it, but when it prints it becomes obvious that the image is heavily pixelated. We are happy to work with you to help improve the quality of the image. Whether we coach you over the phone or create custom high resolution graphics.

2 COLOR VS. 4 COLOR
Most commonly used software programs (i.e. Word, Word Perfect, PowerPoint, Excel) will not allow proper color separations. We often get artwork that has defaulted to a 4 color design. Even if you only see 2 colors, chances are the design is 4 color. We can save you money by formating the artwork for a 2 color design.
SO WHAT WILL IT COST YOU TO GET IT PRINT READY?
The graphic designer will have to redo the artwork in a software program that allows the proper separations. This usually costs about $20-$45 at Aztec. Sometimes full color logos may have to be redrawn for proper separations. The cost of the redesign is determined by the degree of difficulty involved in reproducing it. Going through this process will allow for larger volume printing which is cheaper than printing from your home computer.
For example:
You need 2000 brochures printed. To save money you decide to print a two-color brochure instead of full color brochure. We can ensure that the image is at least 300 dpi and that it separates properly. A full color 8.5 x 11 can cost .89 cents on a color copier, but a properly separated design can cost pennies on the dollar.
